Prior to coming to Boston Children's Hospital in 2023, Chris served as the General Counsel and Executive Director of Legal Services and Compliance at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. In that role, he led the SickKids legal team in support of the hospital's clinical, research, and academic operations. Prior to joining SickKids, Chris served in roles of progressive leadership and responsibility concentrating on legal issues facing hospitals, physicians, payers, and shared service organizations, including Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
Chris retired as a Captain from the United States Navy after more than 27 years of service in the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He served in numerous leadership roles on Active and Reserve duty, including as Commanding Officer of the Navy's Criminal Law Policy Division, Executive Officer of the Legal Division of the Navy's Fifth Fleet, and Executive Officer of the Navy's Administrative Law Unit. He also deployed with Multinational Forces Iraq in 2007-08 and US Forces Afghanistan in 2020-21.
Chris earned his BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and his JD from Albany Law School of Union University, in Albany, N.Y. He has also completed the Rotman School of Management Executive Program.
